What is EAST?
The European Association for the Advancement of Science and Technology (EAST) is a non-profit organisation based in Italy.
- Since its founding in 2015, EAST welcomes among its members worldwide scientists from all branches of knowledge, companies active in scientific and technological development, young students and researchers, organisations, and citizens.
- EAST is a democratic association, and the members of its bodies, who operate exclusively on a voluntary basis, are periodically elected by the general assembly of members.
- EAST does not engage in any commercial activities and focuses all its efforts and entire resources exclusively on the institutional activities offered to its members.
What does EAST do?
EAST acts as a meeting place and a hub for scientific and technological interests at the international level, by promoting the development of scientific and technological research in all its aspects and the scientific and technological education of individuals.
- EAST organises training and educational activities, technical, scientific, and outreach events worldwide.
- EAST produces technical and scientific publications.
- EAST fosters relationships between members of the scientific community and industry companies through, for example, conferences, workshops, matchmaking events, and networking sessions for research project partnership searches.
Who are the EAST members?
EAST today comprises over 200 members, both individuals and legal entities, and is enriched every day with new energy.
- The individual members are mainly scientists based at dozens of universities and research centres worldwide, students, young researchers, and professionals in various fields, including engineering, physics, and medicine.
- The member companies are primarily SMEs or corporations active in strategic sectors of technological development around the world, such as automotive, avionics, space, defence, telecommunications, security, health support, and medical devices.

EAST is a democratic, non-profit organisation. Any person or entity who agrees with the aims and scope of the Association can apply for membership.
